Three Oceanis sailing yachts at the start of the Rallye des Iles du Soleil!
Canary Islands to Guadeloupe via Cape Verde
Open to all monohull and multihull sailing yachts, the Rallye des Iles du Soleil is a perfect way for sailors to cross the Atlantic Ocean safely with the help and support of the organization. This year for the third time, the boats registered set sail from the start, off the island of Palma in the Canaries. Impatient to put out to sea after the 6 days on site devoted to the inspection of everyone’s various equipment, as well as weather and safety briefings on shore, the boats headed off on Sunday 3 November at 11 am (12 pm French time) to Mindelo for the first part of the 970-mile course.
The second start will take place in Cape Verde on 15 November. This will involve sailing 2,000 miles to Marie-Galante, Guadeloupe Islands.
22 boats at the start, 3 of which were Oceanis sailing yachts
The crossing will be a family and friends affair for the three crews of BENETEAU owners: Jean-Michel and his two son on board the Oceanis 35 Grain de Folie III, Hubert and two friends on the Oceanis 41 Manoa, and lastly Christian and his brother on the Oceanis Clipper 423 Ti-Punch.
We wish them all a wonderful time together on this crossing! See you in a few weeks in the magnificent Bay of Saint-Louis in Marie-Galante, Guadeloupe, where the fleet will be asked to continue sailing to the other islands of the Guadeloupe archipelago!
