The 500th Oceanis 46.1 has been built in Cholet

Last week, Groupe Beneteau's production teams in Cholet were in the spotlight as the plant celebrated the historic launch of the 500th BENETEAU Oceanis 46.1.

This event marks an exceptional achievement for the 350 people who have contributed to the manufacture of the Oceanis sailboat range. The Oceanis 46.1 is truly the fruit of a winning team's labor: its designer, Massimo Gino of Nauta Design, its architect, Pascal Conq, and all the BENETEAU R&D teams have all played their part in the journey launched only five years ago with a boat that has had great success with owners and charter fleets alike.

The atmosphere in the Cholet workshops was one of pride and achievement as the 500th Oceanis 46.1 was sent off to her future owner.

Among those present for this unique occasion were the Cholet production teams, who have dedicated their expertise, dedication and passion to the creation of this iconic fleet, as well as the Group's Marketing Director, Damien JACOB, and BENETEAU Brand Director Jean-François LAIR. The latter is delighted with this success:

"It was important for the BENETEAU brand to be able to involve those who build the Oceanis 46.1 every day in this celebration. When they visit our factories, our customers appreciate meeting the men and women who give birth to our boats. Before coming, they often imagine our sites full of robots and machines. Surprised, they are also sensitive to the fact that their dream is the fruit of the meticulous work of our employees"

Franck CHARRIEAU, Director of the Cholet plant, underlined the importance of the commitment of the Cholet production teams:

"We are not only celebrating the launch of the 500th Oceanis 46.1 yacht, but also the remarkable work accomplished by our production teams in Cholet. It is they who, through their expertise, know-how and passion, have brought these world-renowned yachts to life. They are also the ones who have enabled 500 owners or charterers to realize a dream and put it on the water."

"I would like to express my deep gratitude for each of the 350 members of our team who contributed to this event and I also have a thought for our alumni who are not in the photo."
